Pumpkin Chocolate Scones
Serves: 10 scones
‘Tis the season for the magical pumpkin, and adding our chocolate brings these to life! Great for a morning breakfast treat, or to bring to this seasons evening parties. We like to serve these warm, so the chocolate is just a touch soft, giving you a velvety, melt-in-your-mouth experience.
2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp butter, cold
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1 dark chocolate grön bar, roughly chopped
How it’s done:
Preheat the oven to 400°. Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a stand mixer, food processor, or by hand. Cut cold butter into the dry mixture using a pastry cutter, or a fork, slowly combining until you have something that resembles a coarse meal. It’s okay if you end up with some larger lumps.
In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, milk, and pumpkin. Once wet ingredients are combined, pour into dry mixture, and add chocolate. Stir until well combined.
Sprinkle flour onto a flat surface. Pour dough onto the floured surface and start to shape your dough by flattening and folding it. Start to shape the dough into a 2 inch thick round. Cut into 10 equal pieces. Place on baking pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes, depending on shape.
Serve with: Fresh whipped heavy cream (add vanilla + 1 tbs sugar) and a cup of coffee or hot cocoa.
