Chocolate Cream Tart

Chocolate cookie crust, devilishly delicious filling and whipped cream. These are the components that make the most mouth-watering tarts, and we venture out of the box to bring you this medicated dessert! This recipe could be manipulated easily for those in need of something less sweet, for example changing the type of cookies for your crust. More like a dream come true, one taste of this tart is so satisfying you’ll be asking yourself if your New Year’s resolution is worth it!

Equipment: 

Stand-up or handheld mixer.

Food processor

Crust Ingredients:

20 chocolate sandwich cookies

3 tbsp melted butter

How it’s done: 

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350º F. Crush the sandwich cookies and pulse in food processor until it becomes fine crumbs. Add melted butter and pulse until combined.

Step 2
Place mixture in an oven-safe tart tin or pie pan and press with your hands firmly until it covers the bottom. Bake for 5-7 minutes, remove from oven and let cool completely.

Chocolate Filling Ingredients:

1 cup chocolate, chopped

1 grön chocolate bar, chopped

12 oz. heavy cream

How it’s done:

Step 1
Place chopped chocolate and grön bar in a bowl. Heat cream in a saucepan until it just begins to boil.

Step 2 
Pour heated cream over chocolate and let sit for 3-5 minutes. After, stir gently until combined and pour into cookie tart shell.

Step 3
Use a piece of wax paper or plastic wrap to cover the surface of the filling and let cool in the fridge for 4 hours or until cool.

Whipped Cream Ingredients:

1 cup whipped cream, chilled

2 tbsp honey

1/2 tsp vanilla

How it’s done:

Step 1
Measure 2  tbsp of cream and pour into a small microwave-safe dish with the honey. Microwave in short intervals, just until the honey melts enough to mix fully into the cream.

Step 2
Place the rest of the whipped cream in a mixer (or bowl if you’re feeling tough today) and beat until it forms soft peaks. Add the honey mixture and vanilla at this point, then beat until stiff peaks form.

Step 3
Remove tart from fridge after cooling, top with whipped cream et voilà!

Serve with: A garnish of chocolate shavings for an indisputably beautiful dessert. Some drizzles of chocolate syrup couldn’t hurt either!
